Verrillon is seeking an accomplished Senior Preform Scientist to join its seasoned technical team. The Senior Scientist will oversee, design, develop and execute all glass preforms using vapor deposition processes. Activities will include research & development, new product development, as well as special customer requests. The candidate shall be experienced in glass chemistry, silica-based glass compositions, MCVD recipe creation, editing, tuning and problem solving. The candidate is expected to develop new preform technologies in support of the company’s product and market strategies. The Senior Scientist will also be responsible for project management, product and process qualifications, and shall have the ability to drive and motivate the development team to meet project timelines and the company’s business requirements. Other responsibilities include customer technical support, employee training and support of Verrillon’s quality systems and documentation.
